Vision to Vision is a not-for-profit initiative that was ignited by the passion and dedication of Hridaan Sharma, a student at Shri Ram School. His journey has been characterized by an unwavering desire to learn and share knowledge with others. Remarkably, from the tender age of 9, Hridaan embarked on a teaching journey, touching the lives of many.
Hridaan's journey in education took an extraordinary turn as he reached out to those in dire need. He ventured into the challenging world of teaching young drug addicts at the SPYM's (Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses) center in Old Delhi. Moreover, he extended his educational outreach through PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana), where he diligently taught underprivileged students living in slums, helping them secure new employment opportunities.
While working in these underprivileged communities, a profound realization dawned upon Hridaan. He observed that many children struggled with poor eyesight, hindering their ability to read from the board and comprehend various subjects. Tragically, these children often remained unaware of their vision problems, and even if they were aware, they couldn't afford the necessary treatment. This obstacle was compounded by the fact that they often faced parental scolding and discouragement, which could push them towards engaging in criminal activities.
With the guidance and support of Ms. Hema Rachmale, a dedicated advocate for social causes, Hridaan founded "Vision to Vision." This platform aims to enrich the vision of every child worldwide by the year 2045. The unwavering belief is that individuals from marginalized communities deserve equal access to healthcare support.
Through our campaign, we aspire to shed light on the critical importance of eye care. We seek to motivate parents to prioritize regular eye check-ups for their children. Our overarching goal is to underline the significance of early detection and timely treatment of vision problems, especially among underprivileged children. This, we believe, will provide them with equal opportunities for education and personal development.
Hridaan's commitment to this cause was further validated when he discussed the issue with Shri Rajweer Singh, Deputy Directorate of Education, Delhi. Recognizing the urgency and importance of the matter, he graciously granted permission to conduct eye camps in 82 different schools throughout Delhi.Hridaan supported the first 8 camps through crowdfunding on Milaap and received support from the Tara Netralya foundation. After that, he partnered with the India Vision Institute and ICICI (including the signing of an MOU) who were ready to fund this project.
